ReAl goes to the polls with independent candidates

The Republican Alternative Party (ReAl) will take part in the February 9 early parliamentary elections as an electoral bloc, said at the press conference  party leader Ilgar Mammadov.

According to him, the bloc will be called the “Union of Republicans ReAl.” It will include both party members and independent candidates. He read out a joint statement by the participants in this block.

“If  we are elected to the Milli Majlis, we will also act under the bloc of the same name,” Mammadov said. He noted that other structures supporting his position might join the bloc. “If there are appeals, the issue will be considered and appropriate decisions taken,” Mammadov said.

He introduced two of these independent candidates – physician Vasif Ismail and former Foreign Ministry and BP Company Elchin Hagverdiyev.

According to Mammadov, soon the new names of members of the election coalition will be announced. A total of 42 candidates will take part in the elections from the Real party.

Mammadov did not exclude cooperation with other political parties during the election campaign.
