The Election Monitoring and Democracy Studies Center conducted an online survey in December 2022 to assess the needs and opportunities of local groups and organizations working in the interests of local communities.
The purpose of the survey is to study the challenges faced by groups and organizations working for local community interests and the restrictions on the activities of local community organizations.
Online announcements and direct requests to the groups and public associations working at the local level were made for participation in the survey. In total, the representatives of 41 groups and organizations participated in the survey out of 64 groups that initially confirmed their participation. It was possible to ensure the participation of local groups and organizations belonging to all economic zones of the country, except for the two regions – Nakhchivan and East Zangezur.
31 questions were included in the questionnaires. These questions were about – (a) past experience, internal structure, members and volunteers of local groups and organizations, (b) relations with local governing bodies, (c) challenges in local level and (d) needs for organizational development.
